He obtained his medical degree from the Catholic University of Guayaquil (2003), completed his postgraduate studies in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Clementino Fraga Filho Hospital – Brazil, 2005), completed his training in endoscopic ultrasound at the Mediterranean University in Marseille, France (2006-2007); and trained in interventional endoscopy at the Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France (2006-2008).
